As non-profit organizations, the ICANL, ICAEL, and ICAVL are dedicated to ensuring high quality patient care and to promoting health care. All three societies provide a peer review mechanism to encourage and recognize the provision of quality diagnostic evaluations by a process of voluntary accreditation. Accreditation status signifies that the facility has been reviewed by an independent agency that recognizes the laboratories’ commitment to quality testing for the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease.

ICANL Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Cardiology Laboratories |
In 2005, the Intersocietal Commission granted accreditation of the nuclear cardiology lab (ICANL). At the time, Lehigh Valley Cardiology Associates’ Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory was one of the first nuclear cardiology labs in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico to be so recognized for its commitment to high quality patient care and their provision of quality diagnostic testing.
In 2008, the Intersocietal Commission granted re-accreditation of the nuclear cardiology lab, which reflects Lehigh Valley Cardiology Associates’ continued commitment to the highest standards in diagnostic testing for the diagnosis of coronary artery disease.

ICAEL Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories |
In 2005, the Intersocietal Commission granted accreditation of the echocardiography lab (ICAEL). At the time, Lehigh Valley Cardiology Associates’ Echocardiography Laboratory was one of the first one-thousand echocardiography laboratories in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico to be so recognized for its commitment to quality patient care and provision of quality diagnostic testing. Lehigh Valley Cardiology Associates’ Echocardiography Laboratory was the first in the Lehigh Valley to offer 3D echocardiography for the diagnosis of heart disease.

ICAVL Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories |
In 2006, the Intersocietal Commission granted accreditation of the vascular lab (ICAVL). At the time, Lehigh Valley Cardiology Associates’ Vascular Laboratory was one of a select number of vascular labs in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico to meet or exceed the ICAVL standards for noninvasive vascular testing.
