Specially trained nurses, who assist the physicians in managing Warfarin therapy, staff our anticoagulation program. Our goal at LVCA is to achieve a consistent approach to the management of patients on Warfarin. Education in regards to anticoagulation therapy, the potential complications, and ways to avoid adverse reactions help create the team approach we are striving for. If a patient has more knowledge, we believe he or she will take an active role in assisting us with their anticoagulation therapy. Paients are required to have laboratory testing regularly. Staff, working with our physicians, determines if adjustments to dosages are necessary.
Specially trained nurses and technicians, who assist the physicians in managing arrhythmia therapy, staff our Pacemaker/Defibrillator Clinic. Our goal at LVCA is to help patients to remain active and enjoy life by understanding their arrhythmia and their device. Regular follow-up visits allow us to test the battery life and functions of the pacemaker or defibrillator and to readjust the settings as necessary. For most pacemakers and defibrillators, these adjustments can be done from outside the body with the use of special equipment. This adjustment can be achieved during a routine clinic visit.
